Alpha Wireless enjoyed a productive week at MWC19 in Barcelona, including discussion with industry leaders and government officials about new opportunities, as well as an encouraging response about one of the company’s most in-demand products.

The conference attracted 109,000 visitors from nearly 200 countries, and included exhibitions from 2400 companies, demonstrating the latest and greatest in mobile innovation and leading-edge technologies.

With the next-generation CAN on display at the Alpha Wireless stand, customers were able to get a first-hand look at just how discreet the CAN actually is, and how well it blends into its surroundings. The powerful all-in-one small cell solution was one of Alpha Wireless’ showcase highlights and did not fail to disappoint.

As expected, the proliferation of 5G was a hot topic at the event, and having antennas available in that spectrum band with a focus on concealment dominated much of the discussion.

“There was a huge amount of press at the show relating to 5G, while it is still very early days for 5G we can be sure there will be huge investments in 5G over the next 5 years and beyond.

Network operators are already building 5G ready networks which plays nicely with some of the products in the Alpha Wireless portfolio”, Fergal Lawlor said.

“There was a lot of interest in the Multiband CAN and the 5G Tri-Sector. With 5G already starting to be rolled out, we’re thrilled with the industry’s reaction and pick-up of these products – the response at MWC19 underlined that,” said Tim Sill Technology and Development.

The multiband small cells also generated positive attention. They are designed specifically to provide high capacity in densely populated areas like the Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the recent Super Bowl.

“Overall, the event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with existing customers and many new prospects globally. It was also a great platform for new ideas and innovation, allowing one-on-one discussion with industry players and the chance for us to hear more about what they need to move their businesses forward and what we can do to assist in that,” said Lawlor.

The next stop for Alpha Wireless is WISPAmerica, which begins in Cincinnati. Ohio, on March 19, and brings together internet service providers, industry experts and leading suppliers.
